Admissions

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you'll make as a parent or guardian. We're honored you're considering Mt. Salus Christian School, and we're here to walk with you through every step of the admissions process.

Our admissions team is ready to answer your questions, show you around campus, and help you discern whether Mt. Salus is the right fit for your family.

Who is a good fit for Mt. Salus?

Mt. Salus welcomes families who:

  • Value a Christ-centered education and biblical worldview

  • Are committed to partnering with the school in their child's academic and spiritual formation

  • Support our mission to develop confident, capable servant leaders

  • Are ready to be active participants in our school community

We seek students who are eager to learn, grow in their faith, and contribute positively to our community—regardless of where they are in their academic or spiritual journey.

The Admissions Process

1.

Schedule a Campus Visit

The best way to know if Mt. Salus is right for your family is to experience it firsthand. During your visit, you'll tour our campus, meet faculty and staff, observe classrooms in action, and get a feel for our community. We want you to see how faith and learning come together in the daily life of our students.

2.

Submit Your Application

If you decide Mt. Salus is the right fit for your family, submit your application and fee online. Upon review, we will contact you to schedule placement testing for your student (grades 1-12) and a family interview.

3.

Placement Testing & Family Interview

Once your application is reviewed, we'll schedule:

  • Placement testing for students entering 1st–12th grade (this helps us understand your child's academic level and ensure proper placement)

  • Family interview to get to know your family, discuss your child's needs, and answer any remaining questions

4.

Admission Decision

After the interview and testing, our admissions team will notify you of your child's admission status. If accepted, we'll guide you through enrollment, contract completion, and payment setup.

5.

Welcome to Mt. Salus!

Once enrolled, you'll complete your student contract through the FACTS Family Portal, set up your payment plan, and officially become part of the Mt. Salus family. We'll provide information about orientation, supply lists, and everything you need to prepare for your child's first day.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are questions we often get from prospective families.

  • We recommend starting early! Current families can register beginning January 15, and new families can apply starting February 15. However, we accept applications throughout the year as space is available.

  • Placement testing for students entering 1st–12th grade assesses academic skills in reading, writing, and math. This helps us understand your child's current level and ensure proper classroom placement. Testing typically takes 1-2 hours and is scheduled at a time convenient for your family.

  • The family interview is a relaxed conversation where we get to know you and your child, discuss your educational goals, answer questions, and ensure Mt. Salus is a good fit for your family's needs and values.

  • Our goal is that tuition will not stand in the way of families who desire Christian education for their children.

We have a needs-based tuition assistance program. The amount of assistance granted is based on recommendations from a third-party we use to assess the applicant family’s income and assets.

Contact the school for further information on the financial aid application process.

  • We welcome students with diverse learning needs and work to support each child appropriately. During the admissions process, we'll discuss your child's specific needs to determine if Mt. Salus has the resources to serve them well. We're committed to honest, collaborative conversations to ensure the best outcome for your child.

  • Yes! While most students enroll for the fall, we accept applications throughout the year as space is available. Contact our admissions office to inquire about current openings.

  • We welcome transfer students! During the admissions process, we'll request records from your child's previous school to help with placement and ensure a smooth transition.

  • While we don't require church membership or that families adhere to a specific statement of faith, we do ask families to support our Christian mission and biblical values. During the application and interview process, we'll discuss faith background and alignment with our school's beliefs and practices.
